More on women's ministries:

The other day, I e-mailed our church office manager (who is also the preacher's wife) and asked about the whole women's ministries thing. Today I got an e-mail from her saying that she and a group of women had been wondering some of the same things had decided to organize a women's ministry and would I like to help.

God really does have a sense of humor.

I'm telling you, they are out there Q... hiding under the woodwork, but getting tired of the dust and the cold.

I pray that this will be a blessing to all involved.

Take care,
Damien

See what happens when you dare to ask the right questions? I know I said I was going to write more about my experience Sunday with a group of middle school girls, but got involved in a family matter today. Maybe in a day or two.

Q
You posted that you have leukemia. How goes your health today? I meant to ask you right away.

I'm doing well. I'm in a partial remission -- which is actually a good thing. (There's no real cure, but that's not so bad as it sounds).

CLL is the sort of cancer that's not so bad, if you have to pick one and if it can be made to settle into a remissive or non-progressive state. Mine got aggressive early on, but my oncologist and hematologist were equally aggressive and now I'm doing fairly well. I'm not asymptomatic, but I'm not particularly sick, either.

How is your friend's family? Did the surgery go well?
